The Philadelphia Flyers have never hosted the NHL Entry Draft, despite being a member of the league for 42 years. But if the organization gets their way, the hockey world will be gathering in the City of Brotherly Love sooner rather than later. They’ve expressed to the league their interest in holding the event in Philadelphia in either 2012 or 2013.

↵The Flyers have also told the league that they’d be interested in hosting the NHL All-Star Game in those years as well. The game has been in Philly twice, in 1992 and 1976. It’s not often that both events are held in the same city in the same year, with a notable exception being made to Montreal in 2009 as part of their Centennial celebration that seemed to actually last for several seasons.
