The Denver Broncos missed the playoffs again last season after a major collapse. I think the Broncos exceeded expectations early in the season which set them up for their fall. This offseason began with a change at the defensive coordinator position and question marks surrounding star wide out Brandon Marshall. However, wide receiver is not the only position needing to be addressed.
Denver Broncos team needs
1. Nose Tackle
- The nose tackle position is fast becoming one of the most important in football. There are a lot of teams switching to the 3-4 and having a big lineman eating nose tackle is essential. Ronnie Fields performed ok but for this defense to take a step forward they need to find a pro bowl type nose tackle. At pick #11 someone like Dan Williams could be an option.
2. Wide Receiver
- It’s almost a guarantee that Brandon Marshall is traded and with the sophomore slump of Eddie Royal, wide receiver becomes a position of need. The Broncos could possible look at Dez Bryant at pick #11 but more than likely look for them to address the position in the later rounds.
3. Defensive End
- Kenny Peterson is serviceable but long term upgrades are needed on both sides of the defensive line. Hopefully Coach McDaniel’s offensive history doesn’t lead to neglect on the defensive side of the ball.
