Syracuse Blog: Orange Suddenly Full Of Questions After 91-84 Loss To Georgetown

A little over a week ago, Syracuse was on top of the college basketball world. No. 1 during the regular season for the first time in twenty years and a lock for a one-seed, Orange fans were practically booking tickets to Indianapolis.

Cut to Thursday morning and all of a sudden Cuse Nation is in shock. The Orange’s 91-84 loss to Georgetown in the Big East Quarterfinals is their second-straight defeat. All of a sudden the air of invincibility is gone and replaced by more questions than a probable NCAA Tournament one-seed deserves to have.

Why isn’t Wes Johnson screaming and jumping over people for the ball with less than a minute left and the team in need of major help?

Why is Scoop Jardine suddenly the defacto guy with the ball in his hand when SU needs a late score? Does that make sense?

What about AO? My God, what about AO? That looked, sounded and felt horrible. I don’t feel good about the impending news.

How can Andy Rautins throw the best pass in the history of basketball and some of the worst passes in the history of basketball in the same game?

The Orange should still be on pace for a one-seed but expect SU fans to be rooting for Kentucky, Kansas and Duke to win their tournaments from here on out just in case.

One good bit of news for the Orange? According to Arinze Onuaku’s mom, his knee injury isn’t serious. Mama knows.
