At long last, Tim Tebow will unveil his new and improved throwing motion today. Rejoice. Or whatever. But in all seriousness, there is plenty to watch out for at the Florida pro day today – which begins at 10 a.m.
Tebowmania rolls along today at Florida pro day
One of the biggest things to watch is the 40-yard dash time of Joe Haden. He timed poorly at the combine and may need to do better to return to being a top 10 pick. Fair or not, some talent evaluators weigh the 40 heavily for cornerbacks.
It will also be interesting to see how Brandon Spikes works out. He didn’t do a lot at the combine and will need to show some athleticism. The same can be said for tight end Aaron Hernandez.
For today, I will try to update this post when I can. Make sure to follow Andrea Adelson’s Orlando Sentinel blog for more.
Update: Spikes reportedly ran the 40 in 5 seconds flat; Haden in 4.44; Hernandez 4.61. It’s been raining in Gainesville, so this might not be a fast surface.
Update 2: Haden was told he ran times of 4.41 and 4.39. Reporters have been saying that Tebow kept dropping his arm on his throws, especially while he’s on the move.
Looks like Tebow worked out one kink and developed another. There’s still a small loop & now a bit of a pause in motion. Mechanical looking.
Other notable pro days today are Penn State, Michigan State and Arkansas State.
