There’s been much talk during this season of potentially folding the NIT into the NCAA Tournament and creating a 96-team field. The argument for expansion: there is so much parity in college hoops, it would give quality, somewhat deserving teams a tourney berth money. The argument against: It’ll water down the field and make the regular season meaningless.
