Top Prep Jeremy Tyler Officially Parts Ways With Maccabi Haifa

It sounds so easy for a high school prospect to say, “You know, I could pull off playing professionally overseas instead of going to college,” but it’s much harder to pull off. You have to swallow your ego and play with true professionals instead of getting to be the big fish in a small pond in college. You don’t have college kids adoring your every move; you have hardened pros who look at you warily.

↵I bring this up because Jeremy Tyler, one of the top high school players in the country last year, is officially parting ways with Maccabi Haifa, according to Jonathan Givony of Draft Express. It’s been a disastrous year for Tyler, who has had trouble getting with the program out there, for lack of a better phrase. Now, he’s going home, and his best option is probably the NBA Developmental League.

↵Let this be a lesson to all high school preps: just because Brandon Jennings did it doesn’t mean you can.
