The Edmonton Oilers Are Desperate For A Goalie

The Edmonton Oilers have had their fair share of goaltenders this season: Nikolai Khabibulin went down with a herniated disc, goaltenders Jeff Deslauriers and Devan Dubnyk are currently the backup and starter, and even Torrie Jung from the Edmonton Oil Kings has had a cup of tea with the team.

↵So, when Dubnyk goes down with a gastronomical disorder, what do the Oilers do?

↵They call up goaltender Nathan Deobald from the University of Calgary on an amateur tryout contract. Debald is a senior with the Dinos and has played one game for Calgary this season. Because of Canadian Interuniversity Sports rules, Deobald can sign a professional contract and not lose his eligibility. Deobald will backup Jeff Deslauriers for Tuesday night’s game against Vancouver.
