Concussion From Jaroslav Spacek’s Hit Ends David Booth’s Season
Florida Panthers forward David Booth couldn’t catch a break this season and he’ll sit out the remainder of the year because of a second concussion. The 25-year-old fell victim to an open-ice hit from Canadiens’ defenseman Jaroslav Spacek on Thursday and was helped off the ice before heading to a local hospital for precautionary reasons.
Booth’s first concussion came in October when Flyers captain Mike Richards delivered a blind-side hit to the head which caused him to miss 45 games. With Florida all but eliminated from playoff contention, it makes no sense for them to risk Booth’s health even though this concussion isn’t as severe as the first one.
