West Virginia’s Starting Point Guard Will Miss Remainder Of Tournament
The team announced on Tuesday that the sophomore suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot. Head coach Bob Huggins said, “I feel sorry for Truck that this injury happened during this time of the season.”
Huggins added that he wasn’t sure if the foot was broken in practice or during the game against Missouri last week.
Bryant started 31 of the team’s 35 games this year, and averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 assists per game.
“It hurts our depth a little bit,” West Virginia coach Bob Huggins told ESPN.com’s Dana O’Neil on Tuesday night. “But Joe is ready. He’s been playing really well for us. He shot the ball really well in practice and in the games. He’ll be fine.”
The No. 2 seeded Mountaineers play No. 11 seed Washington on Thursday, Mar. 25, at 7:27 p.m. ET.
