If the Cardinals don’t have bad luck with injuries this spring, they have no luck at all. On Wednesday, Albert Pujols and Julio Lugo returned to the lineup after missing time with back stiffness and a strained groin, respectively, and in the second inning, catcher Yadier Molina left the game with what the team is calling a strained oblique.
Cardinals Can’t Seem To Shake Injury Bug: Yadier Molina Leaves Game With Strained Oblique
↵Jason LaRue replaced Molina, who appears to have injured himself sliding into second base on a double. He’ll be re-evaluated Thursday.
↵If he misses significant time, he’ll be the fifth Cardinal to do so this spring, including some of the team’s biggest stars. As mentioned above, Albert Pujols and Julio Lugo just returned from back and groin injuries. Matt Holliday missed significant time with a rib cage injury, and Brendan Ryan just returned from having wrist surgery in February.
