Last fall, Yankees manager Joe Girardi rode a three-man starting rotation to the World Series title.

He may not be able to use the same formula this time around.

MLB announced today that they will condense the 2010 League Championship Series schedule, eliminating the off-day between Game 4 and Game 5. An off-day had been scheduled before Game 5 for the past three League Championship Series.

The change comes at the request of the newly-formed Special Committee For On-Field Matters. The Committee requested that the playoff scheduling mirror the scheduling of the regular season.

MLB said in a statement that more changes recommended by the committee would be implemented in 2011.
