Cole Hamels appears to be very focused on improving upon his mediocre 2009 season, and he easily could be in the Top 20 starting pitchers rankings by the end of the season.
Astros starter Wandy Rodriguez had a breakout season in 2009, but I am not so sure he can duplicate his 2009 season this year. The Astros could be the worst team in the NL Central.
Brett Anderson is probably the best of the young starters in Oakland, and he sports a very nice K/BB rate of 3.33. I have a mixed league draft tomorrow night and will target him.
A couple NL pitcher who are looking to build on their breakout seasons in 2009 are the Rockies Jorge de la Rosa and the Giants Jonathan Sanchez. Both will help in 5x5 leagues as they strikeout alot of hitters.
Carl Pavano moves to the Twins in 2010 looking to build on his successful return to the big leagues after several injury prone seasons in New York.
