Fearless Major League Soccer predictions for 2010

If I had to earn my keep as a prognosticator, I’d be living under a bridge, warming my hands over an open fire set inside a rusty old barrel. (Although I would try to watch tonight’s MLS opener – probably through the department store window with all the other homeless soccer fans.)

SI.com asked little ol’ me and other writers to provide 2010 MLS predictions. I’m not sure if they are pooling them to generate one big 10,000 jigawatt whopper of a cumulative prediction or if they’ll list each set individually. Either way, I ain’t afraid!

After consulting oracles, soothsayers, palm readers, fortune tellers and the local Mexican Bruja who sells delicious tacos on the side, here are my own bold predictions for 2010. (I left a few out because I don’t want to hack off my new bosses at SI.com. It’s the soccer writers’ version of letting the Big Guy beat you at golf. Good for job security, ya know? Because that whole living under a bridge thing really isn’t as romantic as it sounds.)
