Dodgers infielder Ronnie Belliard has done it! The veteran had a contract clause saying his deal would only be guaranteed if he got his weight down to 209 pounds or less during spring training.The LA Times reported that Belliard was “weighed by the Dodgers’ medical staff at 208 pounds.” Given the contract is worth $825,000, that’s definitely a good incentive to stay away from the clubhouse buffet.

↵The bad news is, Belliard’s weight is sixty points more than his batting average this spring. Still, now he’s got his weight down in the direction of the Mendoza Line, he can work on getting his anorexic batting average up towards it.
