Dave Molinari from the Pittsburgh Post Gazette is reporting today that the NHL is planning on having the Pittsburgh Penguins and Washington Capitals at Heinz Field for the 2011 Winter Classic. While the NHL and the Penguins are not going to admit that this is the case until the mid-summer, it makes inherent sense to have these two teams in the Classic in some fashion.

↵The matchup of Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin usually brings a large crowd of casual fans to a game and having that matchup be the focus of the league’s annual outdoor game should generate even more hype to the game. That being said, the constant league promotion of Crosby and Ovechkin can seem to irk even the casual fan.
