Buffalo Sabres winger Patrick Kaleta had surgery for a thumb injury on Monday and is expected to miss the remaining two weeks of the regular season. He was hurt on Friday when the Sabres hosted the Ottawa Senators and didn't dress for the match-up with Tampa Bay the following day.

This is the latest installment of problems for Kaleta who has already missed multiple matches with a neck injury, leg injury and foot injury this season. The gritty 23-year-old has amassed ten goals, five assists and 87 penalty minutes in 54 games.
