Montreal Canadiens forward Glen Metropolit will be out of commission for 6-8 weeks because of a muscle tear in his left shoulder which occurred after an open-ice hit from Rod Pelley on Saturday against the New Jersey Devils. Metropolit is an effective role player who has added sound offense to Montreal's attack with 16 goals and 13 assists in 69 games.
Canadiens’ Glen Metropolit Tears Shoulder, Out 6-8 Weeks
“Glen will be out for the rest of the regular season,” coach Jacques Martin told the team’s Web site. “He has more tests to undergo which will give us a better idea, but he’s definitely out for the next two weeks.”
Metropolit has been a major factor on the powerplay where he leads the Canadiens with ten goals and adds a net presence to what is the league’s second-best unit. Montreal has six games remaining and are seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
