No timetable on his return, but he didn’t feel any discomfort while throwing, which is a positive...Luke French has been optioned to AAA Tacoma, where he will work on developing further in the rotation. The likelihood, then, is that the M’s either give a bullpen spot to Garret Olson, Jesus Colome, or Chad Cordero, or they’ll go outside the organization for an arm...Ryan Garko was placed on waivers as the Mariners have elected to keep Mike Sweeney. Garko had options remaining, which makes this a curious move. Sweeney is currently not on the 40-man roster...Jack Hannahan does not have a sports hernia, and should be able to return to baseball activities shortly. In the meantime, until Hannahan is ready, Matt Tuiasosopo appears to be the favorite to break camp as the utility infielder...Lisa Winston takes a look at the top prospects in Seattle’s system...Erik Bedard is going on the 15-day DL and looks to return sometime in May.
