There seemed to be quite the hubbub on Monday regarding Sam Bradford’s showing at his pro day when he completed all but one pass.
QB double standard? McCoy completes every pass, few care
Big 12 rival Colt McCoy did him one better by completing all of his passes during Texas’ pro day today.
Throwing to Jordan Shipley, Quan Cosby, Nate Jones and Brian Carter, McCoy completed 58 of 58 passes. He stood by his combine workout numbers.
Every team except Detroit and St. Louis were in attendance. The Rams will hold a private workout with McCoy.
So following this performance, where is the talk for McCoy? Where are the Troy Aikman comparisons? Where are people saying this is the best pro day they’ve ever seen?
Apparently three inches and the ability to throw the ball maybe 10 yards shorter is that detrimental. Or maybe these things get overblown. Yeah, probably the latter.
Perhaps Bradford isn’t quite the player everyone was raving about Monday. But, perhaps more likely, McCoy is a better player than the headlines would suggest.
In other tidbits from the Texas pro day, safety Earl Thomas reportedly looked great. He ran his second 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds. According to one report, Sergio Kindle looked “awesome” in linebacker drills. Make sure to hit that last link for some good tidbits.
