Over the weekend, new Cardinals LB Joey Porter was arrested on charges of DUI and police brutality for allegedly slapping away the hand of a police officer after being stopped in a Taco Bell parking lot.

His wife and lawyer came out publicly and denied the charges.
As it turns out, they’re right. The district attorney’s office has decided not to file charges.
So what happened?
We’re not exactly sure. The arresting officer, TMZ reported this week, was “under investigation for alleged brutality”.
It’s fairly common for NFL folks to claim innocence after being arrested. However, it’s not common for the district attorney to agree with them.
