Las Vegas was perhaps the most forgettable race of Brian Vickers’ career, which makes it all the better that he’ll be back in the car tomorrow in Atlanta with a chance to forget his Sin City hangover.
Brian Vickers And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
↵Vickers finished 31st at Vegas and was five laps down – not because of a wreck, but because his car was simply that bad on the track.
↵“We have no idea [what happened],” he said after the race, walking through the garage looking almost stunned. “We were horrible. Worst we’ve ever been.”
↵Vickers said the car was “horribly loose” to start out with and dropped a couple more “horribles” before saying he had “never had a car that loose.”
↵“And we’re not really sure what happened or what caused it,” he said. “For the largest part of the race, I was just trying not to wreck.”
↵
↵As down as he was, Vickers stopped to sign a couple autographs for kids who yelled his name, then returned to continue discussing the mystery of his bad day.
↵“We’re going to have to analyze what we did and what happened,” he said. “We did some stuff with the car this week that we’ve never done before. We were more in one direction than we’ve ever been, ever, and maybe that was the culprit, I don’t know. We’ll just have to take a look at everything and go to Atlanta.”
↵It’s safe to say he can’t get there soon enough.
