↵With less than a month to go before his colossal showdown with fellow heavyweight contender Shane Carwin at UFC 111 in Newark, former division champion Frank Mir will temporarily step down from his role as WEC color commentator to concentrate on one of the biggest fights of his life.
Replacing him for the WEC 47: “Bowles vs. Cruz” event from the Nationwide Arena in Columbus is another familiar voice and “colorful” personality, Stephan Bonnar.

↵Bonnar is actually very good at color work, he’s got a good personality and I’ve never noticed him going “over the top” the way that Mir can in his praise of one fighter. It should only be a one event change, but there is still something rather welcome about it.
