Ian Kinsler Returns From Ankle Sprain
Ian Kinsler, who missed nearly all of April with an ankle sprain sustained in spring training, has been activated from the DL by the Rangers and will make his 2010 debut on Friday batting fifth. He’ll face off against Mariner ace Cliff Lee, who is also making his debut after missing time due to injury.
To make room for Kinsler, the Rangers sent Joaquin Arias to the disabled list. Arias has a sore back, and his absence buys Texas some time to choose between him and Andres Blanco for a spot on the bench.

Kinsler’s been battling a sprained right ankle since the early part of the month, and he only managed to appear in five Cactus League contests, none since March 12th. While he’s been able to hit off a tee and participate in batting practice, Kinsler hasn’t been running or doing any agility drills, as it is important to exercise caution and not risk aggravating an injury of this nature.
