Denny Hamlin toughed it out Friday during practice, he even got in and out of his car on his own without any help from his crew.
Hamlin just recently had surgery on his knee to repair a torn ACL that he got while playing basketball a few months ago.
Back-up driver Casey Mears did split some of the driving duties with Hamlin though so that he could get some important seat-time in case Hamlin decides to get out of the car during the race Saturday night.
Hamlin hopes for long green flag runs so he can doesn’t have to use his knee too much in the car.
