Spanish soccer players are ready to go on strike for match day 33 and today, they received the backing of the coaches.
Spanish Strikers Strike, Rest Of Spanish Players Also Strike
↵From Goal.com:
↵
↵The Spanish Coaches Association (ANEF) have backed the decision of the Spanish Players Association (AFE) to go on strike on Matchday 33.
↵
The strike has been caused by the non-payment of players' wages - around €4 million is owed to various footballers in the Segunda Division - and the AFE have already warned that further action will be taken if the situation is not resolved in the near future.
↵It’s impressive to see some of the world’s most popular athletes strike in support of what equates to the minor league (sort of) of Spanish soccer. Match day 33 includes Real Madrid vs Valencia and Espanyol vs Barcelona (subway series!!!). With today’s Clásico between Real Madrid and Barcelona, this story isn’t getting a whole lot of coverage but once the game is over, it looks as if there is going to be a gap in the Liga schedule.
