Enigmatic forward Alex Kovalev requires surgery on a torn ACL in his left knee which will keep him out for three to four months in recovery. Expected to have the procedure done in two weeks, the Russian was injured on Thursday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

In his first season with the Ottawa Senators, Kovalev scored 18 goals and notched 31 assists in 77 games.
