Defenseman Johnny Boychuk has established himself rapidly in the first round series between the Buffalo Sabres and Boston Bruins. In game two, the rookie slashed Thomas Vanek’s knee causing him an ankle sprain after sliding into the end boards. While that was border-line dirty, there’s no faulting his superb open-ice hit on Matt Ellis midway through game three.
