↵You’ve got a lightweight title fight on the card. What’s the advantage to having an overlap at 155 between WEC and UFC?
↵I actually think it’s kind of cool. I think eventually what we do is, we’re going to continue to add to lighter weights, and you’ll end up seeing these (WEC) guys go into the UFC, the 155 pounders.
↵So once you add flyweight or divisions like that, you can move WEC’s lightweights and move them into UFC, is what you’re saying?
↵Yup.
Dana White Says WEC Lightweights To Be Absorbed By UFC
↵The WEC’s lightweight division isn’t overly deep with talent that one could see surviving for very long in the UFC. Jamie Varner is questionable, same with Donald Cerrone, Ben Henderson is likely going to be able to get some UFC wins, Anthony Njokuani is probably the most interesting prospect and he could be a big factor in the division someday.
↵Still, hearing that flyweights are coming is interesting. I’m not sure how much attention 125 pounders can get from the American public which still insists that the heavyweight division is important in boxing.
