Another Red Sox Outfielder Out: Jacoby Ellsbury Lands On Disabled List

Often, two of something is looked upon favorably: a second helping of mashed potatoes, scoring a free bag of previously stuck chips in the vending machine and buy-one-get-one-free deals are all good things. However, when it comes to a team putting two of its starting outfielders on the disabled list in one day, well, that’s not a good thing,

The Red Sox placed Jacoby Ellsbury on the disabled list Tuesday afternoon. He is eligible to rejoin the team in one week, according to MLB.com's Ian Browne. This moves comes just a few hours after center fielder Mike Cameron landed on the DL, too.

Ellsbury hasn't played due to a rib injury since colliding with Adrian Beltre on April 11. He took batting practice today, and couldn't swing without pain.

Outfielder Darnell McDonald has been called up from Triple-A Pawtucket and is already in the Red Sox clubhouse.
