The Eagles use the pick they acquired from the Donovan McNabb trade to take Allen. He’ll be charged with the task of replacing Brian Dawkins in the Philadelphia secondary.
Taylor Mays was also an option here, but Allen is the better coverage safety, and is ultimately the safer pick.
