Glendale, AZ (Sports Network) - Tomas Holmstrom and Pavel Datsyuk scored a little more than a minute apart in the third period, leading the Detroit Red Wings to a 4-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes in Game 5 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series.

Friday's win gave the Red Wings a 3-2 lead in the matchup, and it's a crucial edge, as they will have the chance to close out the series at home. The matchup heads back to Detroit for Sunday's Game 6.
Drew Miller and Henrik Zetterberg also scored for Detroit, while Jimmy Howard made 30 saves. The Red Wings, who won Game 4 on Tuesday, are one victory away from reaching the West semis for a fourth straight season.
Ed Jovanovski scored for the Coyotes, who were again without captain Shane Doan. The forward has missed the last two contests with an upper-body injury suffered in Game 3. Ilya Bryzgalov gave up three goals on 28 shots in the loss.
