2010 NFL Draft: Newest Eagle Riley Cooper Was Drafted By The Phillies

NFL players, particularly wide receivers, are among the most elite athletes in the world. Because of that, you occasionally get a story like Riley Cooper’s.

Cooper was just drafted in the 5th round by the Eagles.

SB Nation’s Bleeding Green Nation now tells us that Cooper was drafted by the Phillies.

Yes, that’s baseball.

Apparently, the Phillies wanted to draft him in the first round of the MLB draft in 2006.

The Phils ended up decided against taking him #18 overall and instead took pitcher Kyle Drabek with that pick. Drabek was most recently the centerpiece of the deal that brought Roy Halladay to Philadelphia.

Interesting stuff over at Bleeding Green Nation.
