7:00 P.M.: Capitals Travel North With Hopes Of Eliminating Canadiens
The top-seeded Capitals jumped out to a 3-1 lead in this best-of-seven series, but failed to close out the set in Game 5 Friday night in D.C. The 2-1 victory was Montreal’s first win in the series since taking the opener in overtime.
“We knew it could have been our last game of the season,” said Halak. “We came out with a lot of energy in the first and got those two goals. After that we did what we were supposed to and now we have to keep this going.”
