NHL ‘11 To Feature Canadian Major Junior Teams?

EA Sports’ NHL series of video games features teams from the AHL and a plethora of European leagues, in addition to the obvious inclusion of NHL teams. One thing they’ve been missing, though, is teams from the top feeder system for the NHL: the CHL, Canada’s Major Junior leagues.

↵Beginning with the next installment of the game, teams from the three leagues that make up the CHL -- the Ontario Hockey League, the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and the Western Hockey League -- could be included.

↵From gaming blog Kotaku:

↵↵Sports radio in Calgary and a team’s marketing employee are saying EA Sports’ NHL 11 will feature teams from the Canadian Hockey League, the top tier of junior hockey in that country.

↵↵The 60 teams spread across these three leagues are wildly popular in Canada, and in some cities, the local team is even more popular than the NHL franchise of choice.
