Fantasy Baseball: Sunday’s Roto Roundup

Here are a few thoughts after reviewing Sunday’s boxscores:

Mets' starter Mike Pelfrey threw another 5 scoreless innings on Sunday night, but gave up 5 hits and 5 walks while striking out only 3. Still, he lowered his ERA to 0.69.

Braves second baseman Martin Prado had a hit in three at bats on Sunday night and is hitting .406-.475-.565 on the season.

There are only 2 players in the Mets starting lineup with an OPS over ,500-Ike Davis and Jeff Franceour.

Rays starter David Price shutout the Blue Jays on Sunday on 4 hits while striking out 9 and walking just one batter. He is now 3-1 with a 2.20 ERA. It is time to believe, as Price is catching up to his hype.

White Sox outfielder Carlos Quentin is hitting .154-.291-.338 on the season. Is he still hurt?

White Sox first baseman Paul Konerko was probably drafted late in most mixed league drafts, but is probably outperforming many of the first baseman taken ahead of him. He hit his 8th HR of the season on Sunday and is hitting .290-.400-.726 so far.

Dodgers starter Chad Billingsley three 6 quality innings vs the Nationals on Sunday, giving up 4 hits, 1 walk and striking out 5. Billz and the Dodgers needed this quality start, but is this the first sign of a turnaround?

Yankees starter Javier Vazquez got roughed up again on Sunday, giving up 5 runs on 5 hits, 3 walks and 3 strikeouts in 3 2/3rd innings. It is time to start worrying about Vazquez.

The Astros stole 6 bases off of Pirates catcher Ryan Doumit, with Michael Bourn leading the way with 3 SBs, raising his season total to 8. The Pirates are in a very strong downward spiral right now.

One bright spot for the Pirates is centerfielder Andrew McCutchen, as he had 3 hits in 5 at bats, and stole his 10th base on the season. ESPN's Keith Law stated in a recent chat that he thinks McCutchen could approach 50 SBs this season.
