For MLB.com writers, Twitter just won’t be the same anymore:
MLB.com Writers Ordered To Tweet About Baseball Only
↵↵Multiple sources have confirmed to me that Major League Baseball is cracking down on Twitter usage, ordering MLB.com writers to cease tweeting about all non-baseball topics and scolding players for their Twitter usage in general.
↵↵So writers are banned from Tweeting non-baseball stuff, while players are “scolded”? Sounds fair. Those writers don’t make millions of dollars for the MLB anyway.
↵Why would the MLB be prompted to do this now? Are there writers out there that are giving the MLB a bad name because they are tweeting about porn and abortion? I don’t think that’s the case because if it is, we would have seen that tweet by now -- that would have spread like wildfire.
↵The real loser in all of this, though, is the followers: next year’s Dotcom Dash will not exist on Twitter. What a shame.
