DREAM Light Heavyweight Grand Prix Cancelled

↵

The Dream light heavyweight grand prix set for May 29 has been cancelled. Fighter reps were told Wednesday. Still working on the reason.

Looks like the reason for the cancellation is an issue between Dream and its TV partner, TBS.

↵The light heavyweight GP was likely to be much less interesting than previous grand prix efforts given that there are not many available high-level 205 pounders out there to compete in it. The tournament favorite would be Gegard Mousasi who looked extremely lackluster in his recent Strikeforce loss to “King Mo” Lawal.

↵Other participants named were Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou and Renato “Babalu” Sobral. It is believed that the May 29 event will still happen, just without the GP.
