The Eagles traded Donovan McNabb this offseason to make room for his successor Kevin Kolb. As a vote of confidence in the young quarterback, the Eagles extended his contract.
Eagles Give QB Kevin Kolb One-Year Extension Worth $12.25 Million
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, it’s a one-year extension that will keep him under contract through the 2011 season. The extension is worth $12.25 million but here’s the kicker -- it’s 100% guaranteed. That essentially guarantees Kolb will be the man at least through the 2011 season.
"We're happy to have Kevin under contract for the next two seasons," coach Andy Reid said in a prepared statement. "When given the chance, Kevin has proven to have good command of this offense and we're looking forward to having him operate as the No. 1 quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles."
SB Nation’s Bleeding Green Nation caught wind of a few rumors back in February that the Eagles were looking to lock him up.
