Mocking the Draft at the real 2010 NFL Draft

Greetings!
Some of you know me around here and some of you don’t. If you are a MtD regular, and we’ve always wondered who that “BigBlueShoe” guy is with the same blog title as Mocking Dan, I’m here to tell you that I am most certainly not the draft overlord that Dan is. He is the Leonardo DaVinci of scouting. I’m the kid in pre-school that eats the paste.

When Dan took over this site last year, I worked with him to help build up the site by making special pages, writing articles focusing on the AFC South, bringing in co-writers, etc. I have continued to do this for MtD in 2010, but in a more behind-the-scenes way while also running the day-to-day stuff at my other blog, Stampede Blue.

The other thing I have worked on behind-the-scenes is getting Mocking The Draft access to the 2010 NFL Draft itself. Today, I’m happy to report that our efforts were successful.

Mocking The Draft will indeed have someone present on the floor of the NFL Draft at Radio City Music Hall from April 22-24.

After much toil, we’ve managed to secure press credentials for a few SB Nation writers. Some will be going to Radio City Music Hall to blog for SBNation.com. Others will be there to represent their teams. I am being sent as a rep for Stampede Blue and for Mocking the Draft.

The way Dan and I see it, my job is to provide unique, voice-of-the-fan-style content as I am sitting in the same section of the draft floor as team officials, beat reporters, and TV personalities. In addition, I will have access to players, coaches, and league officials. This means interviews, interviews, INTERVIEWS!

Also, news on trades, upcoming picks, and other tidbits may hit me first before it gets out onto TV or the Twitterverse. So, I’ll use our own Twitter, Facebook, and the quick commenting tools in our draft open threads to send you any breaking news I receive.

My job is to take all this access and create some very special content for this site. We will probably have to make a special page or two to house it all, but in the end the content I’ll provide from the floor of Radio City, plus Dan’s reviews of picks as they come in, will make Mocking The Draft the place you absolutely MUST have on your browser come Thursday, April 22nd. Make that F5 button your friend.

Our pre-Draft coverage from the Big Apple will start on Wednesday, April 21st. We hope you enjoy it.

This player should be a plug-and-play replacement for Mekhi Becton right off the bat.

He’s a bit of a liability in the run game, but his potential in the pass game was enough for Buffalo Rumblings.

It’s a high-potential pick for a Detroit defense that needs a solid pass rusher.
