Hello, friends. As a Louisville native, I’m always happy to see international attention drawn to my beloved city. Out-of-towners are often curious about the mint julep, a popular beverage that has become a Kentucky Derby staple. Getting confused? Can’t tell your “mint” from your “julep”? I’m here to help!
A Mint Julep Recipe, From A Louisville Native
↵You will need: bourbon, mint, sugar, water
↵First, you want a pitcher large enough to hold your optimistic preconceptions. Pour them in. Set bourbon aside. Go ahead and throw in the mint, sugar and water. Or don’t. To be honest, I don’t give a soundless shriek in Hell what you do. Pour it in the sink. Pour bourbon in a glass. Or a sippy cup. Whatever. Serve.
↵Oh yeah, and it’s gonna rain tomorrow, jerks.
