Brett Hull Is Interested In Owning The Dallas Stars

Reports coming out Monday from the Dallas Observer say that current Stars forward Mike Modano, former GM Brett Hull and Wayne Gretzky are creating an ownership group to buy the Dallas Stars from current owner Tom Hicks. While Modano is denying the report, and says they have never discussed this, Sportsnet says Brett Hull is the ringmaster of the operation trying to get everything in motion:

↵↵According to Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos, it is Hull that is the main impetus behind the interest in the team. He has been pursuing the team for more than a year and while Gretzky is not directly involved, sources say he is “willing to listen.”

↵↵Gretzky has been a minority owner in the past -- he sold his share of the Coyotes. It would make sense for this group to at least make an offer for the team because of the commitment they have to the Stars and to the area.
