Trade deadline acquisition Peter Mueller is expected to miss the final week of the season for the Colorado Avalanche, thanks to a concussion. There's no timetable for his return, as the injury occurred on Sunday against the San Jose Sharks when defenseman Rob Blake made Mueller crash into the boards with a blind-side hit.
Avalanche’s Peter Mueller Out Indefinitely With Concussion
The 21-year-old scored twice before the run-in with Blake, and has a team-high nine goals since being sent to Colorado on March 3rd. With 20 points in 15 games, Mueller has been a new player after leaving the Phoenix Coyotes, and his absence will hurt an Avalanche squad that is desperately trying to hang onto the eighth spot in the Western Conference.
