For those of you who have followed this Donovan McNabb situation from somewhere outside the Philadelphia area, all you may have seen is the barrage of missiles fired at the Eagles and the Philadelphia fans for their treatment and perceived lack of respect for Donovan McNabb over the last decade or so. What most people don't know, is that Donovan McNabb is a politician. He's said one thing to the local media and another to the national guys. He's come out and affirmed his allegiance to the team in one quote then in another leaked out – often through media folks he's befriended to protect his agenda – what teams he'd eventually like to play for.↵Remember when the Eagles were making a run through the playoffs and McNabb's mom chimed in that it was bittersweet that the Birds were doing so well without her son? That was done on his blog…during the playoffs.↵
Donovan McNabb’s Father Likens His Son to Jesus Christ on Easter
↵↵That was always the kind of stuff people in Philadelphia got tired of hearing. So now that he’s gone, it’s no surprise that in addition to the pile-on by national reporters, one of his parents – this time it being his father, Sam – says something ridiculous. The elder McNabb spoke with Jarrett Bell of USA Today:↵
↵↵⇥“Absolutely, it meant something,” Sam McNabb said of the trade’s timing, amid the buzz Tuesday at Redskin Park as his son, Donovan, was introduced as D.C.‘s new QB.↵⇥↵⇥“We were celebrating Jesus’ resurrection, right? Then we turn around and Donovan gets resurrected. Just perfect.”↵⇥
↵↵Now, there are two ways this post could go. I could use all my pent-up frustration with the situation (see above) and go off on a long tangent about McNabb’s persecution complex – I couldn’t possibly count the number of stories printed this week talking about McNabb still feeling hurt about being booed at the Draft, when every informed person knows the idiot fans who did that weren’t actually booing McNabb as much as the “fill-in-the-blank-player” who was drafted instead of Ricky Williams, so McNabb was nothing more than the franchise quarterback in the wrong place at the wrong time. This could be a rant about that. Or I could just post this video (maybe NSFW language) from Bill Cosby. That explains it all in much more hilarious fashion.
