Spurs, Ginobili Close To Multi-Year Extension

It sounds like you can cross Manu Ginobili’s name of the list of superstars potentially shopping for a new team this summer.

Ginobili and the Spurs are reportedly close to agreeing on a three-year contract extension worth $40 million, according to Yahoo! Sports.

Ginobili's current deal expired after this season, so he was set to join the potentially epic free-agent class of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Joe Johnson, Carlos Boozer and Amare Stoudemire, among others.

Ginobili, who turns 33 this summer, had reportedly been working on an extension with San Antonio for the past two seasons, but untimely injuries hindered the negotiations.
