↵If you ask Jets fans to name their three favorite Jets figures, those will likely be your answers. Fireman Ed may or may not be the originator of the J-E-T-S Jets! Jets! Jets! chant, but there is no doubt that he continues to be the team’s spiritual leader in the stadium. He has received game balls from the team, and was even elected to Pro Football’s Hall of Fame’s Hall of Fans wing in 1999.

↵So when he says this about free agent Jason Taylor, I’m sure Jets fans would prefer if the team passed on the veteran pass rusher:

↵↵“Let’s be real. This guy hates the Jets. He hates Jets fans more than anything. Put it this way: For him to even try to come here, it has to be two things: Nobody is bothering with him or he wants to win a championship. He wants to hop on board.”

↵↵Don’t expect Taylor to get a warm welcome from the always-well-behaved Jets fans if he does sign.
