File this under "why the Internet was invented." There has already been a lot of chatter about the famous crystal goblets given out at the Masters to anyone who records an eagle. Actually, per the Masters website, a lot of hardware is given out each day, with a crystal vase going to the low round of the day, a large crystal bowl going to any double eagle or hole-in-one and the aforementioned goblets going to any player who cards an eagle. ↵
You Can Win a Masters Crystal Goblet Just Like The Pros
↵↵Well, now, Masters fans (we only have to be called patrons if we’re physically at the event, right?), one of us can win a goblet too. And it’ll only cost a cool $15,000.↵
↵↵On eBay, right now, you can bid on Craig Stadler’s 1995 crystal goblet. (Funny that the eBay listing says 1985, but the goblet clearly says 1995. Either way, the Walrus recorded this particular eagle on the 13th hole.) What does a walrus like to drink, anyway? Because that’s what you could be drinking! ↵
↵↵The listing is from a company called Green Jacket Auctions, and they have some pretty interesting stuff dating back to the 30’s. There is no mention of how or why they procured one of Stadler’s goblets. With 29 career wins, including 13 on the PGA Tour and eight on the Champions Tour, you’d hope that Stadler isn’t hard up for money and sold off some of his collection. Maybe it was just stolen from his house? Maybe part of the proceeds will go to some walrus-preservation charity? ↵
↵↵Whatever the reason, nothing could possibly be as cool as owning one of those crystal goblets. I hope PayPal has an IOU option.↵
