The UFC’s cat and mouse game with Fedor Emelianenko is back on.
Obsessed: Dana White Wants Fedor In The UFC Now More Than Ever
↵After failing to successfully close the deal and bring MMA’s undisputed heavyweight champion to the Octagon last summer, the UFC kindly stepped to the side and let rival promotion Strikeforce have at “The Last Emperor.”
↵But now, as the relationship between Fedor’s managers at M1-Global and Strikeforce look to be a bit strained at the least, UFC President Dana White has yet again brought talks of Fedor eventually signing with the world’s biggest promotion back to the surface.
↵In a media roundtable Q & A for UFC 112 earlier this week, White was quoted as saying the following:
↵↵“Fedor [Emelianenko] has become my obsession. I want it worse than the fans want it.”
↵↵Do yourself a favor and check out the video below, courtesy of MMA Fighting, in which that conversation is recorded. The voice you hear in the background questioning White is Yahoo! writer Kevin Iole.
↵
↵Now, does the coyly talking Dana White in said video seem to be a man that “doesn’t know?”
↵Yeah, I don’t think so either. Something is indeed brewing in this ordeal. Be sure to stay tuned.
