Saturday Night’s Alright For NASCAR In Phoenix

It’s scheduled to be a beautiful weekend in the desert, which should mean good things for the NASCAR race at Phoenix International Raceway.

The first thing you need to know is that the race – 63 laps longer than the typical Phoenix race to ensure it finishes under the lights – is scheduled to begin shortly after 7:30 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday night.

The second thing to know is the rest of the weekend schedule at the 1-mile oval, which is here (all times Eastern):

  • Friday, 1:10 p.m. – Sprint Cup practice (1 hr, 45 min)
  • Friday, 3:35 p.m. – Sprint Cup final practice (1 hr, 25 min)
  • Friday, 7:10 p.m. – Sprint Cup qualifying
  • Friday, 9:30 p.m. – Nationwide Series race (200 laps, 200 miles)
  • Saturday, 7:30 p.m. – Sprint Cup race (375 laps, 375 miles)
