After initial reports that Jordan Staal could be out for the season after tendon surgery, the Penguins forward has already resumed skating just days after the procedure.
Jordan Staal Resumes Skating Five Days After Foot Surgery
Pittsburgh Penguins center Jordan Staal wasted little time returning to the ice. Five days after undergoing surgery to repair severed tendon on top of his right foot, he skated with his teammates for almost an hour on Wednesday and moved better as the practice wore on.
Staal, whose right foot was cut by the skate of Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban in Game 1, didn’t speculate about when his return may arise, nor did head coach Dan Bylsma. However, Bylsma was very encouraged with Staal’s skating.
