Andrei Markov Tears ACL, Will Be Out Indefinitely
Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov’s lower body injury has been confirmed as a torn anterior cruciate ligament, resulting from the hit he took from Matt Cooke in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
The Russian is out indefinitely, but hasn’t been ruled out for a return at some point in the series. It’s a glimmer of hope that Montreal will hang on to, as Markov is their most influential person next to goaltender Jaroslav Halak.
